DEAR PROSECUTORS, FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS,

In May 2014 the Program for the Development of the Judicial System (PDJS) Association in partnership with the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria began implementation of the “Civil Oversight of the Capacity of the Prosecutor’s Office to Investigate Corruption Crimes” project. It is supported by the NGO Programme in Bulgaria under the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area with the purpose of carrying out an in depth dedicated analysis of corruption practices in order to improve the organisational development of the Bulgarian Prosecutor’s Office. Preliminary analysis indicates that enhancement in the quality of the work process and ensuring faster and more effective prosecution of corruption crimes requires targeted efforts in two main areas: oversight and analysis of the procedural rules governing the mechanisms for processing corruption signals and corruption cases within the Prosecutor’s Offices; and increasing awareness among citizens, who submit signals for corruption practices. виж още

PDJS Association experts researched corruption cases in the Sofia and Pazardzhik judicial regions.

Between December 2014 and January 2015 PDJS experts researched corruption cases in the Sofia and Pazardzhik judicial regions. Together with research volunteers they analysed a total of 88 cases provided by the local prosecutor’s offices. Project activities will continue with analysis of cases from the Varna and Plovdiv judicial regions. виж още

Successful conclusion of the Improving access to justice for children victims and witnesses of crime, children in conflict with the law and their families” project

All activities under the “Improving access to justice for children victims and witnesses of crime, children in conflict with the law and their families” project, implemented by the PDJS Association in partnership with UNICEF Bulgaria, were successfully concluded. During the 1 year project duration it was carried out with the active cooperation of numerous specialists and professionals in the child justice field from Shumen, Sliven and Montana. The project activities were attended by representatives from the local regional and district courts, police authorities, prosecutor’s offices, municipal authorities, social services departments, attorneys and the NGO sector. виж още
